PUZZLE #7 - SOLUTION
Recreational - teams were given 9 cards with strange marking on the front of the cards, but of note, only 2 suits - when teams flipped over the cards, they saw line segments on the backs of the cards, and 7 of the 9 cards were numbered - connecting the cards by the lines was possible, though many cards were overlapped - the next step was to tape the cards carefully, and then to flip them over to see the faces once again - after doing so, the pips of one suit (separated by sparse occurrences of the pips of the other suit) read: TIME Expert - arrange the 12 cards according to the rules into a 3x4 grid - place the 8 poker chips - the trick was to realize that the white poker chips could hang off the right edge of the 3x4, and that the "-" sign wasn't actually subtraction but rather a phone number separator - doing the math produced 415, 440, 20, and 80, or with the "-" signs, 415-440-2080 - teams called that number and got a message telling them that the answer to this puzzle is TIME (but don't call the number now!) |
